To Do List, 2014

We accomplished a lot together in 2013, Brainiacs.  Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being the most important part of what we do around here.  Thank you for being committed to easy-to-use fantasy sport strategies and using it to crush your friends in your fantasy leagues.

As I mentioned last week, there were a number of things we did last year and at first blush it looks like the 2014 To Do List will have to include the word "repeat" quite a bit.  Goals are a funny thing.  Setting goals and telling them to the world ends up either being very limiting on one end or possibly destructive at the other end.  Either you easily hit the goals or you totally miss them.

However, it's likely to be even more limiting when you don't even have specific goals.  As a wise man once said, if you aim for nothing, you'll hit it every time.  This is the idea behind the To Do List, and if we miss our goals we'll talk about it and re-visit them for 2015.  Deal?

Okay, let's talk about that word "repeat" and get delve into those items where we want to accelerate and keep the momentum going.  And, let's see if we can add a few new items as well.

Goal Number One - Expand the delivery of our content for the benefit of Brainiacs Worldwide.
Goal Number Two - Win an experts league.
Goal Number Three - Increase delivery of publications.
Goal Number Four - Make use of our new mailing list, expanding our reach.
Goal Number Five - Launch a podcast.

Whoa...a podcast?!?  Are you sure, Dave?  Yes, I'm sure.  My plan is to launch a month or two before football season and release a large number of shorter episodes.  I'm currently working on a framework that will facilitate a 5-10 minute cast that we can release five times per week.  The podcast will feature our patented easy-to-implement fantasy strategy that will help you to quickly and systematically transform from a normal fantasy player into one that is truly elite.  That's the plan for now, so we'll have to see if that is still in effect in half a year or if it changes.

Expanding the delivery of our content means that we blog, we publish, we tweet, we partner, and we always improve.  My man Adam Filadelfo (@Frostt24) will be a big part of what we do around here as well.  He was a huge contributor for us in 2013 and I have big things planned for him in 2014.  I would also love to add one more strong contributor too, so if you want to send a resume to me have at it.

And, while we are expanding we will be tweeting.  Give me a follow - @TalktotheBrain.

Last year we published our first book and we contributed to the RotoWire Fantasy Football magazine.  This year we'll continue on both paths, hoping for a return to the magazine and we also have plans for book number two!  The cover has been created though the content is only about 5% complete.  It is definitely an aspirational goal to complete another volume, but I'll do my best to have it to you by the time July rolls around.

And, finally, I'll do my best to make you all proud by representing Brainiacs Worldwide in at least the same six experts leagues this year.  Three of those will be defending a championship (admittedly, in football one of them is a points title), so wish me luck!  I will try to add another league or two, but there aren't that many of them in existence to begin with.  We will see.

Also, be on the lookout for our usage of the mailing list.  I intend to use it more effectively going forward, but I have no intention of ever spamming anyone.  I want to constantly deliver value for you, so help me brainstorm some ideas.  Perhaps it will be as simple as alerting you when big things happen...  There's only so much we can do at The FSB HQ.  (Sign up for the list: HERE!)

Once again, thank you so much for being a Brainiac and showing up here to the site over and over again.  I trust that you get value from our efforts and that makes me happy.  It should be another amazing year in 2014!
